After graduating as a dental technician, he worked in the human field before dedicating himself to veterinary medicine, earning his degree in Milan in 1996. In 2000, he obtained the certificate from the 1st SCIVAC course in veterinary dentistry. He is the author and co-author of publications in national and international journals. Since 2002, he has been working as an instructor and lecturer in SCIVAC dentistry courses. In 2003, he served as lecturer and instructor in the theoretical–practical course in veterinary dentistry at the University of Sassari, and in the same year he attended the courses of the 17th Annual Veterinary Dental Forum in San Diego.

In 2005, he was a lecturer and instructor in the second-level Master’s program in gastroenterology at the University of Teramo, and later at the University of Parma. He was a speaker at the 14th European Congress of Veterinary Dentistry in Ljubljana. He completed an internship at the J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital of Pennsylvania. He has served as scientific coordinator and is currently director of the SCIVAC dentistry training programs. He has held the positions of vice president and president of SIODOCOV. He is currently head of the DENTALVET-ANIMALIA dentistry department and responsible for the development programs of the ANIMALIA group in the field of veterinary dentistry.

INTRAORAL RADIOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUES

Revolutionize your dental diagnostics: the first intraoral radiology course in Italy with virtual reality training.

Are you a veterinarian striving for excellence? Did you know that in dogs over 50% of dental lesions require radiographs to be diagnosed? And that in cats the percentage is similar, with an even higher incidence of tooth resorptions (often invisible without X-rays) and that the exam is considered practically indispensable?

Intraoral radiology is essential to identify these hidden conditions, but learning the correct technique requires practice, precision and time.

SURGEREE and DENTALVET present an absolute innovation in the veterinary training landscape: the first course in Italy that combines top-level theory with immersive practice through Virtual Reality on Meta Quest 3.

The Innovation: The VR Module “RX Alignment Training”

Forget the limits of traditional training. Thanks to the integration of VR technology, this course allows you to step into a virtual radiology room where learning becomes direct experience.

Why VR changes everything

Infinite Repeatability: You can practice the technique as many times as you want, with no limits on time or radiation exposure.

Guided and Autonomous Learning: The software offers a “guided easy mode” to learn the basics and an “advanced self-managed mode” that provides computer-based assessment of your performance.

Proven Effectiveness: Studies show that VR simulation is a valuable teaching tool, superior to physical simulation in both efficiency and effectiveness.

Tangible Results

Those who train with VR systems achieve dramatic improvements in practical skills:

  • +63% accuracy in positioning anatomical markers.
  • +64% accuracy in centering the X-ray tube.
  • +75% improvement in beam collimation management.
  • +56% optimization of exposure parameters.

94% of students recommend this training method for its ease of learning and high satisfaction.

What you will learn in the course

The program covers every aspect of intraoral radiology, from equipment to diagnosis.

Equipment and technology:

  • Analysis of radiographic devices: wall-mounted units, stand-mounted systems, and modern handheld units.

  • Comparison of acquisition systems: analog films, direct digital sensors (RVG), and phosphor plates (PSP).

Projection techniques:

  • Master the parallel-beam technique for posterior mandibular teeth.

  • Learn the complex bisecting-angle technique for canines, incisors, and maxillary teeth — essential to avoid distortions.

Positioning and error correction:

  • How to correctly position the patient (dorsal, sternal, and lateral recumbency).

  • How to recognize and correct common errors such as superimpositions, elongation (elongated images), and foreshortening.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for the modern veterinarian who wants to:

  • Reduce radiographic execution time.

  • Achieve more accurate diagnoses by identifying non-visible pathologies.

  • Learn safely, without chemical processing and with reduced radiation exposure.

Don’t fall behind. Digital radiology is the future of veterinary dentistry, and virtual reality is the future of training.
